Light Work I
Century-old physical direct-on-film work converges with the latest HD format "destined to render film obsolete." Found images from 20th century educational films are sewn together with melted pharmaceuticals affixed directly to the film, forming a concentrated fusion with pulsating electronic sounds, bass clarinet and organ. LWI is an impressionistic video that makes symbolic and material connections between industrial and medical transformations of the early-mid 20th Century, and the present day digital revolutions in music and independent film, and the implied demise of 16mm film.
