Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration at Tanglewood

Leonard Bernstein's centenary celebration at Tanglewood illuminates an incredible career that inspired generations of music lovers around the globe. The legendary conductor-composer, who changed the face of American musical theater and classical music, studied conducting at Tanglewood - the famed summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra - and went on to teach and perform there for fifty years. Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald hosts this gala concert featuring artists and ensembles from the worlds of Broadway, Hollywood, and classical music. With dedicated selections from Bernstein's works, including “West Side Story," "On the Town," "Candide," and "Serenade.” In addition, John Williams unveils a brand-new piece written just for this occasion.
