Laurel & Hardy: One Good Turn
Victims of the Depression with good hearts try to save a sweet old lady from eviction. The concluding and uncharacteristic rebellion against Hardy by Laurel was the one major variance from the shooting script. The new turnabout finish was devised by Laurel at the last moment to show his daughter Lois that she should not be afraid of her “Uncle Babe, ” whom the youngster disliked because he kept pushing her father around in so many films! “Everything was fine after I saw ONE GOOD TURN, ” said Lois.
