Jon Reep: Metro Jethro
That hilarious hick from Hickory is back! And in this new one-hour stand-up special he's gonna make the rafters shake and your biscuits bake. Recorded live at the McGlohon Theatre in Charlotte, NC, is a sweet batch of sophisticated small town funny with a little bit of big city smarts. Jon lays down the rules for nudity in locker rooms, contemplates big city vs. small town life, and of course, shares more heart-warming stories about his loveable father David Reep. Born and raised in Hickory, NC, but living in Los Angeles for the last 10 years, Reep is a self-proclaimed Metro Jethro. What is a Metro Jethro? They take the good parts of small town life and adapt them to big city living. Think deep fried sushi and martinis made with moonshine. Winner of Last Comic Standing's season five, you may have seen Jon as the pot-smoking farmer Raymus in the hit movie Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, or the dim-witted cop Gerald Bob from ABC's sitcom Rodney. But you probably know him as the "Hemi guy." Jon is known to millions as the redheaded hillbilly in the Dodge Ram commercials who leans out of a beat-up car and utters the now famous line, "That thing gotta Hemi?" But before all that he was already one of the hardest-working comics in America, selling out clubs and getting standing ovations all across the country. Jon's show is supersonic energy filled with non-stop characters, and super clever writing.
