Iolenta / The nut cracker

The Paris Opera presents two Tchaikovsky compositions, an opera and a ballet, both created in 1892. If The Nutcracker is among the greatest ballets of all time, the opera Iolanta is less known. In 15th century, the princess Iolanta is blind and is living isolated and protected from the world, in her father's castle. Her blindness is hidden from her.
