I Am Kalam
Chhotu is a young boy working at a dhaba (Indian roadside eatery), who dreams of educating himself and pursuing his dream. Once, he sees the then president of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's address on television. He learns that Kalam was a poor boy like him, who sold newspapers. Inspired by a message from President Kalam that anyone can change his or her destiny by education, Chhotu starts studying on his own whenever possible. Chhotu has been sent away by his mother to work, and he has no time to go to school. Through a chance encounter, he befriends the local prince, and the two secretly spend time together, planning their perfect futures. They both learn about life through the other's very different experiences. 'I Am Kalam' is an endeavor in championing the cause of empowering underprivileged children through education. Moreover, the heart-warming tale celebrates the survival of the human spirit against overwhelming odds.
