Carly Westin, a struggling caterer, agrees to the last-minute request of a friend who wants to impress a new man with "her" culinary talent. As Carly prepares a feast in the kitchen, a knock at the door is followed by shots, and the couple are dead before they can try the canapés. When police investigator Jack Brannigan gets involved, he must protect Carly before the killer strikes again.
