Golden Pirate

In the tumultuous final years of the Qing Dynasty, Su Qi Er (Tan Xin Zer), leader of a local beggar gang, and Chen Xin Yi (Zhao Yi Han), a progressive young woman, unite to protect China's coastal villages from ruthless pirates. As the country struggles with internal political chaos and external threats, the duo forms a militia to combat the marauding pirates who have secretly allied with the fearsome Japanese warrior Noshaku Yamamoto (Norman Chui). Overwhelmed by their powerful enemies, Qi Er and Xin Yi are forced to retreat and regroup, facing the critical challenge of rallying the people against their terrifying oppressors. This is a 2020 Chinese historical action martial arts film adapted from the novel by Su Can and directed by Yang Jian Wu.
