Georama Boy, Panorama Girl
Haruko Shibuya (Yamada Anna) is a 17-year-old high schooler who feels alienated by life in modern Tokyo. She dreams about meeting a boy she can fall in love with – convinced that romance will help turn her boring and unfulfilling life around. Meanwhile, the once-studious Kenichi Kanagawa (Jin Suzuki) has decided that he is done with high school – he tells his teachers he is quitting school and wants to become a free spirit. He heads out into the city and tries to approach women, hoping to make a sexual conquest. But this plan appears to backfire quickly: He falls for a young woman named Mayumi (Misato Morita), who appears to be a sex worker. He arranges to take her on a date, but a love rival beats him up and leaved him bloodied on the street. While he is hurt, Haruko Shibuya sees him – and instantly falls for him, thinking he is the Prince Charming she has waited all her life to meet. As they get to know each other, will this duo find love – or will they end up instead discovering who they truly are? This movie was based on a manga title of the same name by Kyoko Okazaki. “Georama Boy, Panorama Girl” is a 2020 Japanese movie that was directed and adapted for the screen by Natsuki Seta.
