For Love & Honey
Maltese beekeeper Eva is overwhelmed with keeping the renowned family apiary afloat while still honoring her mother’s legacy. When she is called in to safely remove an errant swarm of bees (a national treasure) at the town library, Eva unwittingly uncovers part of an ancient Roman fresco. Visiting American professor Austen believes the artwork may be the key to his research on a 17th century diary entry and securing a tenure position. Under pressure from the head of his archaeology department, Austen decides to excavate, but the mayor requires he do so under Eva’s supervision. She begrudgingly agrees, if only to educate Austen and keep her beloved bees safe from the American with a penchant for swatting at them. Meanwhile, Eva’s younger sister Chloe’s enthusiastic ideas for expanding the family business put a strain on their once affectionate relationship. Following the clues in the fresco, the unexpected duo embark on a treasure hunt to verify the authenticity of the painting before the local authorities take control of the discovery. Eva and Austen just may find there is more than meets the eye with the historic artwork and each other, all they need to do is look beneath the surface.
