Fathers of Football
Fathers of Football is the heartwarming story of the triumphs and struggles of life in a small town, where football is not only the brightest stage but also the best ticket out. Like a lot of places in rural America, poverty and addiction are pervasive in Wagoner, Ok. Football means everything to this town of underdogs. The team gives the town and players a common sense of purpose and a reason to believe in something. A.J. Freeth’s Dad wasn’t around much, despite that, he's the team’s leader and star wide receiver, but he finds life off the field difficult to navigate. Cornerback, Chris Murray is crucial to the team's success, but the odds are stacked against him. His quick temper and tendency to get in trouble make him an unreliable teammate. Head Coach Dale Condict struggles to be the mentor that his players desperately need when his son, Austin, is diagnosed with testicular cancer. Austin’s future was bright, but he has spent the season watching game highlights from his hospital bed, with much more on the line than a starting position. Set among the Friday night lights of small town America, this character-driven story follows three players and their beloved coach as they navigate their lives through an unbelievable season.
