Eden

Helen (Joanna Going, “House of Cards”) is the wife of an authoritarian professor (Dylan Walsh, “Nip/Tuck”) and mother of two in turbulent 1965. As roles for women and society are changing, Helen has lost all confidence and sense of herself as she struggles with MS. She begins to have recurring dreams of flying and finally feels free of the prison her body and life have become. The more difficult things get the more she withdraws into the dreams, until they consume her and eventually become out of body experiences and Helen slips into a coma. The thought of losing her and the sage advice from a young college student (Sean Patrick Flannery) finally makes her husband realize how remarkable Helen really is. His love for her blossoms even as her body is dying. Can his now unconditional love help Helen to come to terms with the reality of her illness and choose to come back to lead her life to its fullest? Or will she allow herself to fade away?
