How ecosystem destruction is breeding deadly virus mutations. In Sumatra and Borneo, during the horror of the covid-19 pandemic, the forester Basuki Santoso and the land surveyor Feri Irawan encounter a country under destruction. Even though scientific studies of the Eijkman institute prove that there is a connection between the massive deforestation of animals’ habitats and the increase of zoonosis - which causes deadly virus mutations - the savage destruction of the key ecosystem has only gotten worse during the pandemic. As alarming scientific research emerges, will corporate interests be tamed and ecosystems restored? Or will the seeds be sown for the emergence of a new pandemic?
