A reclusive computer programmer creates an artificial intelligence device that has the ability to evolve and adapt, enhanced with predatory tendency to "sacrifice the weak" and win at all costs. When the device becomes infected with a virus and is unleashed, a group of terrified friends find themselves trapped together in a building unable to escape. The A. I. aggressively grows beyond its programming - evolving into an organism which rapidly spreads everywhere-- in the air, in the water, under the skin, and its human hosts. But escaping from the building is only the first step, as the virus has seemingly spread faster than anyone imagined.
