Alma (Irene Kuykendall) is a jaded and cynical documentary filmmaker who finds herself unable to connect emotionally to anything in her life. Acting on an ominous suggestion, she decides to seclude herself in an old Southern mansion further cementing her isolation. As she sets about making habits for her new reclusive lifestyle, she is drawn more and more to escaping into memories of her past. Despite her efforts, the outside world consistently shatters her illusions, culminating in the mysterious death of May (Janey Robideau), a young woman who speaks only through cryptic accusations. Refusing to accept May’s death, Alma descends into a dark, surreal nightmare where her guilt and trauma surface with horrific tenacity. And as the lines between hallucination and reality blur, the answer of the mystery that Alma does not want to solve comes to a head, forcing her to succumb to the identity of who she truly is.
