Battles Without Honor and Humanity 2: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima
The street of Hiroshima will run red with blood if Shoji Yamanaka (Kinya Kitaoji) has anything to say about it. The second installment of Kinji Fukasaku's The Yakuza Papers, this title (like its lead character) is a bit of an outlier, as it does not focus on Shozo Hirono (Bunta Sugawara). Instead this title follows Yamanaka after his release from prison, as a young waitress at a local restaurant treats him to a meal, but before he can enjoy the free food he is brutally beaten by Katsutoshi Otomo (Shin'ichi Chiba) and his gang. Vowing revenge, Yamanaka is welcomed into the yakuza by the waitress's uncle and his gratitude is swiftly illustrated as he proves himself a dedicated soldier, executing orders with extreme precision. Despite his loyalty, Yamanaka is regularly betrayed, leading to an expansion of his notoriously bloody hit list.
