Andy Parkin: A Life in Adaptation

Andy Parkin is regarded as one of the worlds finest alpine climbers, but in 1984 he suffered a near fatal climbing accident in the Alps and many believed his love affair with mountains was over. Andys slow rehabilitation involved painting and sculpting the mountains that had so very nearly claimed his life and now Andy is known as much for his inspirational artwork as his climbing. Incredibly, Andy also learned to climb again, adapting his climbing style to the demands of his damaged body. A Life In Adaptation is an expression of Andys philosophy, a film profiling the life and work of a true Alpine great. It is a genuine collaboration between artist and film maker that evolved over an 18 month journey.
