Along Recovery
A veteran of the Iraq War documents the recovery of four U.S soldiers evacuated from combat with traumatic brain injuries--the signature wound of Afghanistan and Iraq. Shot over the course of two years, Along Recovery is an intimate portrait of a wound estimated to affect nearly 500,000 combat veterans. With unprecedented access inside the Brooke Army Medical Center, Along Recovery chronicles the exhaustive routine of therapy and mind-altering medications that each Soldier must endure. Following months of treatment, a medical review board determines each Soldier’s fate; a return to the ranks or reintegration into civilian life.
