All Quiet On the Western Front
A room full of german schoolboys are goaded by their schoolmaster to troop off to the glorious war in 1914 and set off to become soldiers. Their disenchantment begins with brutal basic training and then, as they board the train to the front, they see the crippled being rushed to hospitals. It is their first glimpse of the grim reality of war. In the trenches, one by one the boys begin to fall.
