Abandoned
Simone is a struggling single mother raising her teenage son, RJ. She works as a guard while trying desperately to make ends meet. One day, while her workplace is being robbed, she is paralyzed by her fears of her son growing up without a mother and is unable to act while people get slaughtered under her watch. As a consequence, her boss handpicks her to replace the guard at an abandoned facility where there is little risk for any liability. The previous guard was a pregnant woman, who went AWOL and never reported back on duty. As Simone begins her shift, she starts to hear voices and see images in the dark. She hears about the rumor surrounding the place; it is believed to be burned down on purpose to offer its occupants as human sacrifice. Back at home, her relationship with RJ, whom she used to be close with, begins to crumble as she suspects that he is lying to her. Soon, the visions in the abandoned facility become more violent, and she realizes she is at grave risk. The visions become more vivid and personal, and they prey on her trauma in the hand of her father, her ex-boyfriend, and the social structures that took away her dignity. They try to persuade her that freedom can only be attained if she is liberated from her role as a mother, which requires a ghastly sacrifice
