A Moon of Nickel and Ice
In the extreme conditions of Northern Russia sits the isolated mining city of Norilsk. Built by the Gulag convicts in 1935 under Stalin’s reign, the city now inhabits 175000 natives in between nickel mines and barren iceland urging citizens to migrate. The descendants of the first miners shed light on the horrifying past and history of torture that has been buried deep under the ice.
