A Legal Kindness

Rosie is eleven, American and her mother is dead. The only home she has ever known is in a small village in the south of France. Her official next of kin is a cold and greedy second cousin, who lives in the US and has come to claim her. The people in the French village, who know and love her, have no right to adopt her. Can her mother's long extranged husband, a washed-up actor, somehow save her?
