A Host of Sparrows
Tom MacNeal is released from prison after serving thirteen years. Intent on leaving his criminal past behind, Tom recovers a hidden fortune and sets out for Florida, but his plans are stalled when his former boss, Finn, an armchair philosopher and criminal puppet master, insists the money belongs to him. Finn orchestrates a deadly plan to flush Tom out of hiding – a plan involving Margo, the daughter Tom has never met. Through a series of manipulations, seven people, including Tom and his daughter, are coaxed to a remote bed & breakfast in rural Pennsylvania where a torrential rainstorm floods the road and strands them for the weekend. Seven strangers. Seven secrets. Seven separate agendas. As events turn deadly, we discover no one is who she or he appears to be and that the lives of everyone trapped in the bed & breakfast are linked by a single event that happened eleven years earlier – a double-homicide that left Margo’s mother and the only woman Tom has ever loved dead.
