When the submarine USS Scotia is lost deep beneath the sea, Lieutenant Aronnax (Lorenzo Lamas) is asked to use his breakthrough technology the Aquabot to search and rescue. Aronnax finds himself in a compromising situation when he learns his captain is his ex-wife Lieutenant Commander Rollins (Natalie Stone). After miscalculating air supply and losing oxygen they find themselves aboard a mysterious ship with Captain Nemo (Sean Lawlor) who is forcing captives on his ship to help him build his Atlantis, his undersea euphoria. Captain Nemo is planning on destroying the United States Navy in order to freely build his underwater city, however he needs Aronnaxs oxygenator, a device that turns water into breathable air, to support an underwater lifestyle. A mutineer on the submarine helps Aronnax find his crew who are on the brink of being brainwashed and goes up against the determined Nemo to resist his plans of building his Atlantis and also reach the Scotia in time to rescue over a 100 crew members.
