Spinal Disk

S1 E3: Throughout her career, five-time WNBA all-star Swin Cash was one of the most dominant players in the game. Her versatile skillset and competitive nature led her to three championships and two gold medals with the US Olympic team. After receiving an MRI, Swin was diagnosed with cancer in her kidneys as well as a disc herniation in her spine. As a young athlete with more to give to her sport, Swin aggressively sought treatment for her ailments to allow her to return to the court. In young athletes, a herniated disc can be even more complicated than in adults if their body is still developing. So, when Western State Colorado basketball player James Willis injured his spine, he played for an entire season to allow his body to mature before seeking surgical treatment. Now in too much pain to continue playing, James turns to the most cutting-edge medical technology available today to see if he can save his basketball career.
