Incident of the Immigrants

S4 E23: Three drovers, imprisoned for trespassing by an exiled Prussian count, try to Americanize the nobleman and his fellow immigrants. Wishbone, Quince and Clay are assigned to destroy some cattle infected with anthrax and then to quarantine themselves from the drovers and herd. But they are taken prisoner and their cattle impounded for "trespassing" by German workers "owned" by Count Ulrich, an exiled Prussian count and army officer living on a 50,000-acre ranch. Ulrich does not know what anthrax is and refuses to believe his own herd is in danger until one of his men dies of "milzbrand." To replace him, Ulrich orders the three drovers put to work at forced labor. Clay rebels and is whipped, but the drovers remain fiercely independent. They continue to indoctrinate the German workers on the American way of life and the Germans slowly come to realize the stupidity of their subservience to Ulrich. (TV-PG)
