Blood Ties

S6 E21: Steve assigns Amy Devlin and Taylor Lucas, two police officers from the Vice Squad, to assist in solving the homicide of local pimp Milton Wilder. However overzealous Taylor convinces her partner to take a temporary detour on their way to the investigation. Taylor has unfinished business with bail jumper, Laurette Stipe, and intends to personally make sure she stays behind bars. Arriving at Stipe's local hangout, Taylor and Devlin apprehend their suspect, but encounter a snafu when a mysterious gunman's shot rings out in their direction. The gunman kills Stipe, but Taylor inflicts a chest wound on the assassin before he gets away. Taylor realizes the shooter will need medical attention, so she causes a bullet graze to herself and has Devlin take her to a "dirty doctor that treats criminals without reporting it to the police. By visiting the doctor, Taylor hopes to confirm the gunman did go there for treatment and obtain information on his whereabouts. (TV-PG)
