Basket Case

S1 E1: A no-luck kid, Carl Montclaire is heading home from school when he sees Porter Jackson, an Angel-in-Training, appear out of thin air. Porter, who moves into Carl’s house and pretends to be Carl’s distant cousin, reveals that he has been assigned the task of making Carl the most popular student at Bennett High. Porter’s first move is to enter Carl in a basketball shoot-out with Bennet High’s jock. Carl doesn’t have a chance.
