Ava - Thailand

S1 E2: Ava’s sweet 16 was one everyone will always remember – she went shopping for the perfect dress in Paris, called her mom a bitch when she canceled her credit card and threw the temper tantrum heard round the world when there wasn’t a shiny new Range Rover waiting for her the morning of her 16th birthday. Now a 19 year-old sophomore in college and is still running up mom and dad’s credit card bills. For this global studies major, life is good. In fact, it’s great, and that’s because Ava has absolutely no responsibility, except to get good grades. Ava’s parents feel like they’ve made a deal with the devil: in exchange for the grades, they’ve fed their daughter’s insatiable appetite for the good life and she’s never had to get her hands dirty. But Ava’s mother thinks it’s about time for this silver spoon to be pried out of her mouth… and replaced with a rusty hoe. In this episode of Exiled, Ava will be plucked from Beverly Hills and sent to the remote hills of Thailand where she’ll live in a rickety straw hut with her host sister, Laddee, who will school her in the real world! Waking up at the crack of dawn to tend to the local elephants and collecting their football size elephant poop are just some the fun daily lessons she will have to look forward to. Ava thinks that because she’s travelled the world and studying other cultures that she knows how other people live. But this Beverly Hills brat soon realizes that this trip is more than she bargained for! Will Ava crack under the pressure of her new environment or will she come away from this experience having learned the lesson of a lifetime?
